New Year, New Start – Get Set For Success In 2025

New year, new start! Now’s the time to get thinking about giving your website a revamp, changing up your promotional campaigns or even starting over from scratch!

If that all sounds a bit daunting, don’t panic – we’re here to help with some “new year” tips to get you started…

set your 2025 goals

Before you get bogged down in the practicalities, sit down – perhaps with a good old fashioned paper and pen – and work out exactly what it is you want to achieve over the next twelve months.  The simple act of planning ahead will give you a chance to think about what you actually need in order to achieve success.  Ask yourself what your goals are: for example, if you want to encourage more people to your cafe or restaurant, think about having some flyers made, with mouth-watering photos of the food you offer.  Consider how appealing your signage is – does it attract people as they walk past?  Once they’re through the doors, what’s the ambience like inside?  Do you need some funky artwork on the walls, or newly designed menus?

Once you’ve got an idea of what you want your fresh start to achieve, you can set to work on reaching your 2025 goals!

Look at what's currently in place

You probably already have a logo (if you don’t, that’s the first thing to get sorted!).  With your 2025 goals in mind, take a look at what you have and ask yourself – honestly – if it’s doing its job.

For example, does your logo make it clear what you do?  Is it legible, up-to-date and able to be used in print and on screen – at any size – without losing clarity?  If the answer to those questions is “yes,” fantastic!  After all, your logo needs to represent you and be instantly recognisable.  If you’re still using a blurry image you made on MS Paint twenty years ago, it might be time for an update…

Is your website 2025-ready?!

Same goes for your website…  Go through it with a fine-toothed comb, with your “new year, new start” aims in mind.  Let’s say you’re a brass band, looking for new members – is your website appealing to people who might want to join?  Does it look modern, fresh and exciting, or are people going to land on your homepage and think it looks so ancient, perhaps your group no longer exists?!

Read through the text to see if all the important details are there.  Not just rehearsal venue, dates and times, but all the questions a new member might have – how much does it cost to join?  What level of playing ability will they need to have?  Do you provide uniform?  Does your group socialise outside of rehearsals?!  Think like that new member you’re hoping to find.

And of course, make certain that your website is accessible to all users.  You can read more about that here.

try something new in 2025!

From the tiniest acorns, mighty oaks can grow…  You might think you’ve done all there is to do, when it comes to promoting your organisation, but have you?  A new year is a great time to reassess and try something different.

Perhaps you’ve got a fairly faithful online following, but what about print publicity?  Posters, banners, flyers and even bespoke postcards are all highly visible ways of spreading the word about what you do – after all, not everyone is glued to their phone!

That said, the opposite can be true.  Maybe you’ve been sending out flyers, but your customer base is online and they’re not seeing all the effort you’re going to?  Make sure you’ve got a strong online presence across social media platforms, with good quality content to keep people engaged.  If you’re really feeling bold, try making a promotional video, or even record a podcast about what you do.  If that sounds a bit too much, something as simple as a regular blog can be a great tool for keeping potential customers in the loop.

New year, new ideas...

Perhaps this new year, you’re starting completely from scratch – whether it’s a brand new business, a charitable venture or a community organisation, you’ll have a head positively full of big ideas!  Our advice to sit down and plan out everything you want to achieve is even more important, if this is the case.  Hopefully our tips above will help you hone in on how to meet your goals!  Starting from scratch can be scary, but exceptionally rewarding, so get planning and roll up those sleeves!
