Merry Christmas From The Little Birds!
Here we are at the end of another exciting year here at Little Bird HQ – with lots to look forward to in 2023…
We may only be a few weeks into the new school year, but thoughts are already turning towards days out and family fun. Little Bird Creative are proud to have worked with some amazing organisations, providing entertainment for all ages. We’re also rather fond of taking days out ourselves, so we thought why not compose a list of places we recommend – some we’ve worked with and others being spots we simply love to visit in our spare time.
To make the list even easier to choose from, we’ve also split it into three categories: Museums and Heritage, Cheap or Free (we’re all watching those pennies, right?!) and Action-Packed (for those adrenalin junkies amongst you).
So, what are we waiting for? Let’s get on with the list!
Once the headquarters of the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry, Bodmin Keep is over 160 years old and houses a fascinating collection of items, spanning three centuries of military history. The museum has plenty to entertain over half term, from WWII reenactments to “Make Do And Mend” craft sessions. Plus, you can see several exhibit panels designed by none other than Little Bird Creative, including the newly redesigned Siege of Lucknow exhibition!
Yes, it’s another client we’ve worked with, but we really do love the railway – plus it’s a dog-friendly attraction, so you can take your canine companions along, too! The railway opened in 1834, with Bodmin General Station opening in 1887. Bodmin & Wenford is now Cornwall’s only full-sized railway still operated by steam locomotives. Not only can you enjoy a trip back in time on one of these incredible engines, but the railway operates all manner of fun events, from murder mystery trains (solve the case whilst you’re on board!), to Driver Experience Days. Bookings can be made in advance by emailing enquiries@bodminrailway.co.uk.
Following along perfectly from our last recommendation, The Camel Trail stretches 18 miles along a disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. Whether you walk or cycle, the trail is a beautiful track through a variety of stunning scenery, from the Camel Estuary leading towards the sea at the Padstow end, to the wooded Camel Valley and the edges of Bodmin Moor at the other. Pick a section, take a picnic and enjoy some fresh, Cornish air!

Step away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and go on a woodland adventure! Cardinham is an ideal location for thrill-seekers and strollers alike, with walking, cycling and mountain-biking trails well signposted for visitors and an abundance of breath-taking views. If you find yourself building up an appetite whilst you’re there, then Woods Cafe is well worth a visit! Open Wednesday-Sunday, the cafe serves a tempting array of treats.
This theme park near Helston has something for everyone! From feeling the buzz on the Hornet coaster, to getting a soaking on the log flume, if your family is looking for fun, you can’t go far wrong, here. It’s not all thrill-rides, either; Flambards gives you the opportunity to take a trip back in time, as you wander through the life-sized Victorian Village, or feel the ground shake as you brave Britain In The Blitz. Best of all, both of those are indoor attractions, so there’s something to do for everyone, come rain or shine!
We weren’t kidding when we said “action-packed!” This is a unique gravity park near Liskeard, which is definitely not for the faint-hearted! From go-karting and zip-lining, to a huge, inflatable Aqua Park, if you’re an adrenalin junkie, this is the place for you. Ideal for older kids (the aqua park is open to children aged 6+, the go-karts to children aged 7+) and adults who want to blow off some steam!
Well, we don’t know about you, but we’re itching to plan our next day out, now! We hope we’ve given you some good ideas and wherever you go and whatever you get up to, we hope you have fun!

ADHD means that my brain works differently, so the way I approach things has to be different too.
Here are a few things that help stay organised and productive at work.
Since the first thing potential visitors or clients often see of your organisation may well be your online presence, it’s worth checking in on it now and again and being ready to give it a bit of a makeover when it needs it.
So, what can you do to ensure your website stays fresh?!
Here at Little Bird Creative, we have a long-standing relationship with the amazing people at Bodmin Keep. The military museum has something for everyone and this year, they began an incredible project, entitled Splanna!
